Use the 2008 De Soto Race Number Belt to attach your race number to prevent pin holes in your clothing. The 2008 De Soto Race Number Belt's new design consists of a soft elastic belt with snaps to attach your race number. Wear your number in back when biking and spin it around to the front for the run. Use it for triathlons, marathons or any race that requires you to wear a number. One Tri recommends that you wear the 2008 De Soto Race Number Belt under your wetsuit to save yourself time in transition.

Reviewed by bluetriThe 2007 version of the De Soto is softer and wider than other belts I've seen. I use my race belt for every event now because pining race numbers can be bad for your clothes. My brother actually snagged a new tri top he bought by pinning the race number to his jersey. Don't make the same mistake and invest a few dollars into a race belt.
Reviewed by triPegAt least in the races I've participated in (Wildflower, LA Tri) you aren't required to wear your race num on the swim or bike. Plus you don't want to or it'll be bunching in your wetsuit or flapping on the bike. Safety pins are ok, but some synthetic materials don't take well to pins and leave holes. I like the race belt because I can just grab it on my T2 and put it on while I'm running. I turn the race number to the back while I'm running so it's out of my way, then turn it to the front when I cross the finish line. Bonus for me - I also pin my gels to them so that when I need it I can tear them off and not worry about littering the little top tab on the street. I also don't have to worry about grabbing more stuff in the fury of trying to put on running shoes and dumping off my bike. Very handy. I'd use these in my 5K/10K/half marathon/marathon events too.
