Reviewed by TriKonaEvery big race I've ever done has used ankle chips for timing and every one of those races has given me an ankle strap as well as a chip, so I never really need to buy one. Then I did a local race earlier this year and was given an ankle strap that looked like it had been through a war. It was holding on by a thread and I doubt it would have even survived me taking off my wetsuit. Unfortunately I didn't notice this until I left packet pick up and got home - pre-race nightmare comoe true! Thankfully a local shop had one of these and I swapped it out. Needless to say it worked just fine and you bet I kept it when they tried to take it off at the finish line. Now I have it in my little bag of tricks in case I show up to a race and am given an ankle strap thats been worn 2000 times and is on its last breath.
